The Best Locations to go Glamping in Saskatchewan

If camping around the province isn’t your thing, you might want to consider glamping in Saskatchewan. A portmanteau of “glamorous camping,” glamping brings all the luxuries to your stay to make it a unique way to experience a location. There’s no need to sleep on the ground or skip out on running water and access to bathrooms.

Here are five of my favourite spots for a glamping getaway in Saskatchewan.

Glamping in Saskatchewan

Tasta Airstream

Tasta Airstream takes staying in a vintage camper to the next level. The Dale is the province’s only airstream Airbnb. It’s located on five acres of land south of Saskatoon in the hamlet of Furdale. It makes for the perfect getaway from the city or a great getaway to the city (depending on what you’re looking for.)

On arrival, you’ll find a complimentary bottle of wine, homemade sourdough bread and perfectly packaged s’mores to cook on the outdoor propane fire pit. There’s also an option to include locally sourced ingredients from local shops for a delicious meal grilled and enjoyed al fresco on the wooden patio underneath strings of twinkle lights. Every detail is looked after during your stay and it’s truly a luxurious glamping getaway.

Flora Bora Yurts

Flora Bora Yurts is a forest paradise on the edge of Prince Albert National Park. It’s located near the communities of Emma and Christopher Lakes. Owner Karen Wasylyk has several yurts onsite to choose from, each with its own private bathroom, kitchenette, deck and firepit. There are complimentary bikes and a canoe to adventure along the private lake’s shoreline. There are also hiking trails through the forest which are full of berries in season. It’s truly a place you go to relax and enjoy nature.

Alive Sky Lodge

Located 10 minutes south of Rosetown, Alive Sky Lodge is the ultimate in terms of unique glamping opportunities in the province. I’ve written extensively on the four-season luxury grain bin accommodation. The bin is complete with chandeliers, two fireplaces, an outdoor hot tub and Canadian Maple queen-size bed.

But I’ve also stayed in their more rustic Schoolee in the Coulee. It’s a converted school bus on the edge of their farmyard that has an outdoor shower, firepit and wallpapered outhouse. This year, they’ve opened up their newest accommodation – a two-story converted grain bin. It even has a ship’s ladder to get to the second story. April is a true queen of hospitality and her homemade breakfasts are the perfect way to indulge during your Saskatchewan glamping getaway.

Nesslin Lake Yurts

I’m a big fan of the tiny cabins and camping sites at Ness Creek. I’m also a fan of Nesscore Ventures lesser-known yet equally awesome yurts available to rent at nearby Nesslin Lake. There are three yurts to choose from in the campground, each with a camp stove and fridge. There are opportunities for paddling and hiking as well as horseback riding at nearby Sturgeon River Ranch (where you can also stay in a real ranch house!) Plus, each time I’ve spent a night in one of the yurts, I’ve managed to catch a spectacular show of northern lights over the lake so keep your eyes on the sky late at night.

Camp Wolf Willow

Camp Wolf Willow is part glamping experience and part winery (yes, really!) Set along the South Saskatchewan River just over an hour south of Saskatoon, the campground offers furnished teepees, army tents, a Boler trailer and both luxury and wooden tents. There are kilometres of hiking trails and miles of shoreline to explore. Plus the onsite winery and restaurant make it an ideal all-in-one location for getaway glamping in Saskatchewan. But perhaps the best is experiencing a big-sky sunset from the deck of one of their accommodations.

Other great places to check out for glamping in Saskatchewan include Sask Parks Camp Easy, Parks Canada O’Tentiks and Tipis (Grasslands East Block), Glamping Resorts Ltd. and Adventure Destinations International.
